What can I expect during my first acupuncture treatment?
We always start with an initial consultation. During this consultation, most of the time is spent getting to know the patient's health problem, discussing health history, dietary and lifestyle habits, and other relevant information. Chinese medicine takes into account the whole person; the general condition is assessed, and the tongue and pulse are integral parts of the diagnosis. After assessing all these aspects, we create an individual plan and set goals.
What is important to know before your first visit?
Do not consume alcohol the day before acupuncture;
The last meal is recommended 1 hour before the procedure;
It is recommended not to exercise on the same day after the procedure.
How many times and how often is it recommended to attend acupuncture therapy?
The frequency and number of visits depend on the health problem and the patient's condition. Typically, the more neglected the health problem, the longer its treatment takes. The most commonly recommended course of visits lasts an average of 4 to 12 weeks, 1-3 times a week. Each plan is individual, taking into account your needs and situation - all relevant information and details are being discussed during the initial consultation.
Acupuncture is not recommended for:
For patients with extremely high blood pressure;
For those with hemophilia/taking blood-thinning medications;
